Land Rover Freelander 2 official pictures and information

Land Rover has released official pictures and information of the facelifted Freelander 2, the new car will debut in Russia on the Moscow International Motor Show which will open on the 29th of this month. The facelifted Freelander overall is little change, the interiors functional design upgrade is the biggest bright spot.
The Land Rover Freelander has a chunky shape that borrows design cues from larger models such as the Range Rover, yet has a look all of its own. The front end is imposing but it’s quite car-like in the flesh, rather than an aggressive SUV. Latest versions have updated headlights, grilles and new bumpers along with new trim. All models come with alloy wheels as standard. Inside, the dashboard is a quality affair with upmarket soft touch materials along with wood and metal trim. However, the Range Rover Evoque does make it look rather dated inside and out.
This small facelift appearance change is limited, improvement in appearance, but these changes or makes facelift cars look more refined and contemporary is also enhanced, to some extent, still be able to give people a sense of freshness.
Inside, the makeover runs to a bigger LCD screen, an optional 17-speaker sound system and a centre console that borrows cues from Jaguar. However, unlike the Evoque, the Freelander 2 sticks with a traditional gearstick for its six-speed automatic rather than a dial that rises from the console once the car is switched on. The new Freelander also gets keyless start and a voice-control system for many of the in-car functions such as radio and climate control, while an intelligent electric parking brake will apply extra force if you park on a steep hill.
Freelander 2 buyers can choose between two diesel engine tunes: the 110kW direct-injection TD4, or the 140kW SD4. While the power output varies between the two units, both derivatives now develop 420Nm of torque, a 20Nm increase over the outgoing model. On the tarmac, the new Freelander cruises effortlessly at the 110km/h national speed limit and has plenty of mid range punch for high-speed overtakes. It’s even better on steep uphill passes, where the additional torque gets this vehicle moving rather quickly. While the 0-100km/h sprint is over in 9.5 seconds (11.4 for the TD4), top speed increases to 190km/h for the SD4, and is unchanged at 181km/h for the TD4 powered variants.
