Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series

Inspired by the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series is the high-performance version of the Mercedes SLS AMG. The 6.2-liter V8 has been upgraded to deliver 631 hp (60 more than the stock) and 635 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift DCT dual-clutch seven-speed. The Black Series accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, touching a maximum speed of 315 km/h. The new SLS AMG Black Series has many carbon details which allowed to lower the weight to 1,550 kg (70 kg less than the standard SLS) and, thanks to changes to the engine, the Black Series has a weight/power ratio of 2.45 kg/hp. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series stands for changes to the trim and the chassis: Performance AMG Ride Control suspensions are more rigid and allow adjustment at different stages. The Balck Series comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes, sporty tires, lightweight alloy wheels and rear locking differential.

As AMG tradition, the whole engine is hand-assembled by a single technician, only in the AMG factory in Affalterbach.  See the pictures below.

Ispirata alla Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, la Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series è la versione più performante della Mercedes SLS AMG stradale. Il V8 da 6.2 litri è stato potenziato per erogare 631 cavalli (60 in più dell'originale) e 635 Nm di coppia. Il motore è abbinato al cambio AMG Speedshift DCT doppia frizione a sette rapporti. La Black Series accelera da 0 a 100 km/h in 3.6 secondi, e tocca una velocità massima di 315 km/h. La nuova Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series presenta numerosi particolari in carbonio che hanno permesso di abbassare il peso della vettura a 1.550 kg (meno 70 kg) e, grazie alle modifiche al propulsore, la Black Series vanta un rapporto peso/potenza di 2.45 kg/cv. La Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series si distingue per le numerose modifiche all’assetto ed al telaio: le sospensioni Performance AMG Ride Control hanno una messa a punto più rigida e permettono la regolazione in diversi stadi. La Balck Series monta di serie freni carboceramici, pneumatici più sportivi, cerchi in lega ultraleggeri e differenziale autobloccante posteriore.
Come da tradizione AMG, tutto il propulsore viene assemblato a mano da un unico tecnico, esclusivamente nell’impianto AMG di Affalterbach.
